Ready for the next step on the wheel?

Duration: 4-night classes (7:00 pm - 9:00 pm), Thursday evenings.
Class Cost: $300 (includes clay and firing)

Outline:

Week 1: Off the Mound!
Learn how to prepare a larger amount of clay and center it on the wheel. Make multiple pieces from a single lump of clay, such as a series of identical teacups.

Week 2: Teapots, Jugs, Ewers.
Trim and complete the teacups from Week 1. Then, prepare the clay to make the spout, lid, and body of a pouring vessel. Let these pieces dry for Week 3.

Week 3:
Construct the works using the pieces made in Week 2. Apply iron brushwork and clay slip to the teapot and teacups before allowing them to dry.

Week 4: Glazing
This week focuses on glazing and exploring creative techniques with materials in the studio to produce unique results. Learn about different glazes and how they work by applying them to your pieces.

Firing:
The works will be wood-fired in our kiln. Students are encouraged to attend the wood-firing event, which typically takes place within two weeks after the final class. Please note that the wood firing is weather-dependent, as the kiln is outdoors.
